Top of The Rock

Top of The RockI took this photo in the Summer of 2014 on the Top of The Rockefeller Centre in New York City. It’s a view of Uptown Manhattan with Central Park and the Hudson River on the left of the frame. I used the iPhone’s panorama function and then imported it into Lightroom 5 for a few small adjustments to the brightness and shadows. It can’t be pushed as much as a RAW file and it does lack a bit of sharpness, particularly at the edges; but it is pretty impressive for such a small lens and sensor. You can see why the iPhone has become the most popular camera on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/cameras and I’m sure that Samsung, Sony etc. are every bit as good or perhaps even better. As Chase Jarvis says, “The best camera is the one you have with you”. Now there is no excuse for not having a camera.
